Dear Prospective Resident:

Thank you for your interest in the UC Davis Dermatology Residency Program. We are excited about the upcoming application season and wish all our applicants good luck. This section of the departmental web site is dedicated to you, the applicant. We are very proud of our training program, which provides extensive training in all areas of dermatology. Residents have the opportunity to work with more than 30 faculty and visiting faculty members with unique interest in different areas of dermatology. Together they provide a very diverse training environment.

Our program is also on the cutting edge of dermatologic research. Members of the department engage in clinical as well as basic science research investigating wound healing, psoriasis, epithelial growth and differentiation, aging skin, diabetes, cultured-skin substitutes, inflammation, autoimmunity, and much more.

We are located at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California.  We have two outpatient clinical sites near central Sacramento, as well as clinical training sites at the VA and Kaiser.  Our department is currently undergoing rapid growth in order to service the Northern California and Nevada referral base.

Our program requires three years (PGY2-4) of Dermatology training for graduation. Residents may complete their PGY-1 at any teaching hospital in the United States in the disciplines of: Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Preliminary Year, or a Transitional Year. Interviews are arranged by invitation. Please see the application section of this web site for the latest information on interview dates and deadlines. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our program with you.

 Sincerely yours,
