UC Davis Medical Center
UC Davis Medical Center, a 619-bed academic medical center where clinical practice, teaching and research converge to advance human health. Centers of excellence include the National Cancer Institute-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center; the region's only Level I pediatric and adult emergency department and trauma centers; the UC Davis MIND Institute, devoted to finding treatments and cures for neurodevelopmental disorders; and the UC Davis Children's Hospital. The medical center serves a 33-county, 65,000-square-mile area that stretches north to the Oregon border and east to Nevada. It further extends its reach through the award-winning telemedicine program, which gives remote, medically underserved communities throughout California unprecedented access to specialty and subspecialty care.
UC Davis School of Medicine
UC Davis School of Medicine is one of the nation's leading medical schools, recognized for its research and primary-care programs. A national reputation for life-changing biomedical discoveries, a passion for clinical care and a commitment to engaging people from underserved communities are the hallmarks of a UC Davis School of Medicine education. The school offers fully accredited master’s degree programs in public health and in informatics, and its combined M.D.-Ph.D. program is training the next generation of physician-scientists to conduct high-impact research and translate discoveries into better clinical care. Along with being a recognized leader in medical research, the school is committed to serving underserved communities and advancing rural health.
Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis
Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, the sixth professional school at UC Davis, joining nationally recognized programs in medicine, veterinary medicine, law, business and education, and a proposed School of Public Health. Established in March 2009 with a $100 million commitment from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the nation’s largest grant for nursing education, the school is UC Davis' first major initiative to address society’s most pressing health-care problems over the next 100 years. The vision of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing is to transform health care through nursing education and research. Through nursing leadership, the school will discover knowledge to advance health, improve quality of care and health outcomes and inform health policy. The school admitted its first classes for the Master of Science and the Doctor of Philosophy degree programs in fall 2010. Additional students and programs will be phased in over the coming years. When full enrollment is reached in all degree programs, the school is projected to serve 456 students.
UC Davis Medical Group
UC Davis Medical Group, a 1,000-member physician group offering nationally-renowned primary care and specialty expertise in more than 150 areas of health care. The medical group operates 17 outpatient offices in 10 Sacramento-area communities, each with same-day appointments for acute care and access to interactive online health records. UC Davis primary-care providers deliver everyday health services using an individualized approach and an emphasis on wellness and prevention. Most UC Davis Medical Group offices also feature on-site specialty care and the ability to consult with UC Davis faculty specialists in Sacramento.
