Our surgeons are highly skilled in minimally invasive techniques such as traditional and robotic-assisted laparoscopy, and have expertise in fertility-preserving surgeries. The gynecologic oncology division works closely with specialists from medical oncology, radiation oncology, gynecologic pathology and related surgical subspecialties to provide a full range of expertise. UC Davis’ multidisciplinary treatment team includes social workers, nurse practitioners, dietitians, genetic counselors and pain medicine specialists.

Services benefiting patients also include regular tumor boards, which bring together cancer experts to provide insights and recommendations about specific cases.

Advanced research and clinical trials

The close collaboration among doctors and research scientists at UC Davis means that new drugs and treatments developed in the laboratory can quickly move to the clinic, offering patients access to the latest therapies, including targeted treatments that can reduce toxicity. Our gynecologic oncologists have published extensively on clinical-outcomes research, helping focus attention on best practices in cancer care.

In addition, UC Davis patients have access to trials of the newest treatments before they become widely available through the NRG Oncology cooperative group, National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) and Southwestern Oncology Group (SWOG).
