Population Sciences and Health Disparities
Co-Leaders: Moon Chen, Ph.D. and Larry Kushi, Ph.D.
The Population Sciences and Health Disparities Program’s goal is to initiate, foster, and conduct population-based and intervention-based research into cancer prevention, initiation, progression, and survival, with an emphasis on populations facing disparities in incidence of particular cancers, morbidity, or mortality.
In retrospective population studies, this Program builds partnerships with the California Cancer Registry.
In prevention, this Program is involved in the development and delivery of primary prevention or risk-reduction efforts such as screening.
