Many nursing professionals serve in direct care roles; however, in order to advance nursing practice, shape health policy and improve the health of people, rigorous scientific inquiry is needed. Research at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is the engine that drives new solutions that put the individual and family at the center of care.
The diverse interests and expertise of School of Nursing professors, coupled with robust collaborations with faculty across UC Davis and beyond, catalyze cutting-edge research from nursing-home and palliative care to chronic-disease and care management to disease prevention and health promotion. From technology and quality and access, researchers work to improve health care systems and design policies to assure care is effective, efficient and responsive.
Through the school’s research in the five research areas in the menu at right, faculty and leaders seek to transform society by discovering better solutions that lead to healthy people and healthy systems.
