At the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, we endeavor to dream big through our people, our programs and our passion for nursing. We embrace the evolution of expanding knowledge and new technologies and leverage them to create programs and curricula that both transform the classroom experience and health care as a whole.
Join us as we work together with community members, faculty, students and alumni to understand what people want to lead healthy lives, identify tools to enable them to manage their well-being and design systems that empower them to accomplish individualized health goals.
First-generation graduate student illustrates value in investment
Marlene Her, a first generation Hmong college student, chose to pursue her master’s degree in leadership from the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. As a daughter of refugee parents, her upbringing of biculturalism resulted from experiencing cultural barriers to accessing resources. With a sense of gratitude and community, she understands the importance of education. Her is grateful for support from others who believe in her potential and her vision for health care. Meet Marlene Her and one of the donors from the Caroline Dare Scholarship Fund and the UC Davis Nurses Founding Donors Scholarship.
