Urology specialties
The Department of Urology offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for adult and pediatric urological conditions. Urinary incontinence is treated through pharmacologic and surgical means. Expert surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation therapists cooperate in the treatment of urological cancers. Patients with kidney stones are treated with minimally invasive stone removal techniques and medically evaluated to determine risk factors for recurrent stone formations. Male infertility is addressed through testicular biopsy, vasograms, seminal vesiculograms, vasovasostomy, and vaseoepididymostomy. The department offers treatment using the da Vinci robotic surgical system for cases involving kidney and prostate cancers, as well as kidney dysfunction.

“Would I recommend robotic surgery for prostate cancer? Absolutely! I wanted a fast recovery without blood loss or damage to nerve endings. I recently did a 430-mile bike ride, so I’d say it worked real well.” — Mike Stevens, Sacramento, CA
