Pediatric neuromuscular disorders
Children suffer from a range of neuromuscular diseases and disorders for which there are numerous treatments and services available through UC Davis’s Department of Neurology child neurologists as well as physicians and researchers from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation unit, the UC Davis MIND Institute and Shriners Hospital for Children.
Neuromuscular disorders for which we provide treatment and consultation include:
- Cerebral palsy
- Muscular dystrophy
- Myasthenia gravis
The neuromuscular disease clinic, which is operated by the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department, is the official Muscular Dystrophy Association Diagnostic Clinic for the Sacramento area. The clinic offers care to children as well as adults with a range of neuromuscular diseases.
