Meet our Fellows
 Nima Beheshti, D.O. M.P.H. PGY-5 Movement Disorders Fellow Nima Beheshti grew up in Orange County, California. As an undergraduate, he attended UC Irvine, majoring in Biology and Political Science, as well as minoring in Art History. He found that his time working with the largely Hispanic population of Orange County instilled in him a passion for community health, and so Nima pursued his Master’s in Public Health at UC Berkeley, with a focus on nutrition as well as health policy and management. There, he worked with a managed care physicians group which introduced Nima to both the challenges and opportunities that go along with treating health at a population level, and ultimately inspired him so much that returning to health policy and administration remains a career goal for him to this day. During this time, Nima was also able to complete a 15-month fellowship in Health Leadership to help establish in himself a formal foundation in leadership skills. After grad school, he attended Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Denver, CO, where he was exposed to neurology on a chance rotation and quickly realized that becoming a neurologist was his true calling in medicine. Happily, Nima matched his top choice at UC Davis for a neurology residency. Nima is continuing in his training at UC Davis for his fellowship, specializing in Movement Disorders which has been an interest of his since he was first exposed to neurology in Colorado 6 years ago. |
 Todd M Chatlos, M.D.PGY-5, CNP-EEG Fellow Todd Chatlos grew up in Herndon, VA in the suburbs of Washington, DC. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia, where he stayed for two years after graduation to work in a neuroradiology lab studying traumatic brain injury and movements disorders. After that, he attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where fabulous mentors solidified his interest in the field of neurology and began exposing him to surgical treatment options for epilepsy, piquing an interest in the field. After graduating from medical school, Todd ventured across the country to complete his neurology residency at UC Davis. Although initially intimidating, the cross-country move proved to be more than worth it given UC Davis' supportive learning environment which allowed him to build strong foundations in all aspects of neurologic care while also further developing an interest in EEGs and the surgical treatments of epilepsy. Todd is continuing his training at UC Davis for a two-year combined Neurophysiology and Epilepsy fellowship where he hopes to research both basic science and public health topics relating to the field. |
