Neuroradiology Fellowship Program

Number of Fellowship Positions: 3 per year
Duration of Fellowship: 1 year
First Year Program
- CT/MR: 6 months*
- Angiography/Myelography/Nuero-Interventional: 6 months*
*This is a combined rotation over a six-month period.
Second Year Program
To be tailored according to the fellows' interests, such as Head/Neck Radiology, Pediatric Neuroradiology and MR research. Possible rotations in addition to first year rotations include Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropathology, Neuro-ophthalmology, and Research.
Computed Tomography
Fellows will participate in readout of head and spine CT examinations and will be involved in head and spine procedures performed using CT (i.e., CT myelograms). There is a large volume of trauma head and spine CT scans, as well as head and neck (ENT) CT exams.
Neuroangiography
Fellows will participate in the performance and interpretation of diagnostic cerebral and spinal angiograms. Fellows may assist the interventional neuroradiologist in the performance of occlusion aneurysms, ateriovenous malformations and fistuloe, Wada tests, balloon test occlusion studies of the carotid artery, and other endovascular procedures. Fellows will also assist in intraoperative angiography.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Fellows will supervise the performance and participate in the interpretation of diagnostic head and spine MR studies in both adults and children. This will include assisting the neurosurgeons in stereotactic localization procedures.
Teaching Responsibilities
Fellows will teach residents and medical students assigned to neuroradiology in both the CT and MR areas. Fellows will prepare cases to present for the neuroradiology clinical conference held every other week, and also participate in presenting the radiographs for the neuropathology correlation conference held every week. In addition, a fellow will prepare and deliver one resident teaching conference per quarter (four per year) for the radiology residents.
Research Responsibilities
Fellows will be encouraged to participate in at least one research project with the neuroradiology faculty.
Vacation and Meeting Time
- 20 vacation days per year
- 4 elective days per year (elective with Director's approval of vacation or conference)
- 12 sick days per year

Completion of four-year residency in the United States or Canada.
