Program Administration

The M.D./Ph.D. program is administered by its Director, two Associate Directors, and Program Manager in consultation with the M.D./Ph.D. Steering Committee, consisting of a small group of dedicated UC Davis faculty.  The primary directives of the M.D./Ph.D. Steering Committee are to develop M.D./Ph.D. policy and to help select candidates for admission.

In addition to directing program operations, the M.D./Ph.D. Director, Associate Directors, and Steering Committee members act as advisors to M.D./Ph.D. students.  A longitudinal M.D./Ph.D. advisor is assigned to assist each student in optimizing his or her degree program and oversee the student's progress.  This M.D./Ph.D. advisor is distinct from the research mentor under which the M.D./Ph.D. student will pursue his/her Ph.D.
