This course is a foundational sepsis class for nurses at all practice levels in the hospital. This course will include lecture and a simulation case study format, covering the pathophysiology of SIRS, sepsis, septic shock. By combining simulation and the EMR we will spotlight the nurse’s role in caring for patients at all phases along the sepsis continuum. This course will mirror the nurses’ workflow, stressing the importance of early identification, timely interventions and communication when caring for septic patients.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 6.25 contact hours.
The University of California, Davis Medical Center is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
