This instructor-led course meets Joint Commission requirements for UC Davis Health System staff and is recommended for certification of internal UC Davis Health System health-care providers requiring *bag-valve-mask skill. Course curriculum follows guidelines based on current research, resuscitative science journals and papers, including the 2010 AHA guidelines for CPR and emergency cardiovascular care. High quality CPR steps for adult/child/infant and AED skills are taught. Class size is limited; please sign up early. Cancel registration if you are unable to attend.

CPPN certificates of completion will be issued to participants who pass the written evaluation and correctly demonstrate skills on the mannequins. If you need an AHA CPR card you should take an AHA course.

*Bag-valve-mask skill is a challenging skill that requires practice regularly to do well. Refers to any person who is required to have the skill of using a bag-valve-mask. Includes, but not limited to, M.D., R.N., L.V.N, R.C.P. Examples of excluded staff: physical therapist, dietitians, MOSC, HUSC, hospital assistant, medical assistant.

Study materials

Prior to the course, participants are encouraged to study the CPR guidelines.

Attire

Wear loose, comfortable clothing or scrubs. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have physical conditions that might prevent you from participating in the course, please notify us prior to the course. The instructor will work to accommodate your needs within the stated course completion requirements.

Parking
