Program Administration

The Physician Scientist Training Program is administered by its Director, Co-Director, and Program Manager in consultation with the PSTP Steering Committee, consisting of a small group of dedicated senior faculty from the School of Medicine.  The primary directives of the PSTP Steering Committee are to develop PSTP policy and to help select candidates for admission.

In addition to directing program operations, the PSTP Director, Co-Director, and Steering Committee members act as advisors to PSTP students.  A PSTP advisor is assigned to assist each student in optimizing his or her degree program and oversee the student's progress.  This PSTP advisor is distinct from the research mentor under which the PSTP student will pursue his/her Ph.D.

It is the responsibility of each prospective PSTP student to complete applications to the M.D. (School of Medicine) and Ph.D. (Graduate Studies) programs at UC Davis
