The Urology Team works very closely with Pediatric Radiology to determine precisely what imaging your child needs. We have regular joint conferences to review and discuss complex cases and to ensure quality. Our primary goal is to use the best imaging modality for diagnosis and treatment planning. The decision making for children is often complex since they often cannot cooperate and children are more susceptible to radiation. We must consider the value of the imaging relative to your child’s comfort, exposure to radiation and need for anesthesia.  Imaging is performed in a child-friendly (and parent-friendly) environment by caring personnel. Experienced pediatric anesthesiologists and nurses provide sedation as necessary.
