The UC Davis School of Medicine faculty is a network of world-class physicians and researchers who are proud to serve as a diverse, inclusive, collaborative and collegial community of educators and mentors for our medical students.

Whether they’re treating the most complex and acute cases or working to pioneer and refine the latest diagnostic and treatment methods, our faculty members are exceptionally dynamic and talented individuals who navigate an incredible breadth of responsibilities, skills and experiences in their daily work – and then bring them to bear for the benefit of their students.

And like the students they teach, our faculty members are also lifelong learners themselves – creating and tracking new knowledge, theories, and best practices in order to best serve their patients, students and colleagues and to help meet the present and future challenges of academic medicine.

We are proud that U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks UC Davis School of Medicine among America's best medical schools for the quality of its educational programs in both primary care and research. Our associated teaching hospitals, UC Davis Medical Center and UC Davis Children’s Hospital, also appear regularly in the publication’s rankings of the nation’s best medical centers in multiple specialty areas.

Many members of our faculty serve in key leadership roles in national, state and regional medical, policy, professional and policy organizations, and earn accolades and recognition by virtue of their excellence and significant contributions to health care knowledge and practice.

Many also participate in basic, clinical and translational research across a wide range of areas, and are regularly engaged in innovative, interdisciplinary collaborations within the UC Davis community and with other highly regarded institutions.

UC Davis Health is also marked by its social commitment, and many faculty members and educational programs work to ensure and refine culturally appropriate care for underserved populations, reduce social disparities and raise awareness about the social determinants of health.
