Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine

Research in the UC Davis Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine addresses fundamental molecular aspects of cell biology, gene expression, cancer biology, membrane biology, neurobiology, muscle physiology and human genetics. In addition to innovative research activities, the faculty are involved in the teaching and training of medical and doctoral students. Faculty members are primarily located in Tupper Hall on the Davis campus and in the basic science departments of the UC Davis Cancer Center, located at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
The faculty of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine maintains laboratories in the UC Davis Cancer Center and M.I.N.D. Institute in Sacramento, Department of Nutrition Science, Department of Chemistry, and within the Rowe Program.
