The UC Davis Medical Center is a level one trauma center, and our anesthesiologists are experienced in providing anesthesia to patients who present with blunt force and penetrating traumatic wounds. Both general and subspecialist anesthesiologists are always on call, providing 24 hour emergency room coverage.

The UC Davis Medical Center is currently the only hospital in the Greater Sacramento Valley that provides facilities for liver transplants. In keeping with our mission to provide outstanding patient care, five faculty anesthesiologists combine to provide the transplant service with 24 hour coverage. These members of the liver transplant anesthesia group have undergone specialized training and are experts not only in administering anesthesia but also in managing the special demands of this life-saving procedure.
