Philosophy of Care

Dr. Warrick cares for patients through an individualized, comprehensive, evidence-based treatment approach. She prioritizes ways to return patients to their functional activities. With respect for autonomy, she encourages patients to voice goals in their treatment plan. Through patient-centered education, she seeks to help patients understand their diagnosis and treatment. She is committed to providing exceptional patient care, both through compassionate clinical care, and through functional outcome assessments to restore function and improve quality of life.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Warrick is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician trained in Sports Medicine Physician whose clinical expertise is in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries. She provides nonsurgical medical care for people of all functional and athletic abilities inclusive of professional competitive, and recreational athletes. She treats acute and chronic conditions with a detailed biomechanical assessment, thorough physical exam, and utilizes diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound in the clinic for comprehensive treatment plans.

She develops strategic rehabilitation plans that incorporate physical therapy, activity modifications, home exercises, functional equipment, and return to play protocols. Dr. Warrick is skilled in Ultrasound guided joint injections of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, SI joint, hip, knee, ankle, and foot, as well as Ultrasound guided tendon sheath and tendon injections. She performs Ultrasound guided muscle injections for spasticity management.

Dr. Warrick has particular interest in running and enjoys working collaboratively with our sports performance lab for functional assessment of running biomechanics. Dr. Warrick has a background in drumming and dancing; she enjoys working with performing artists.

She provides sideline event medical coverage for UC Davis Intercollegiate Athletics (Football, Basketball, Gymnastics, Soccer), Sacramento Republic Soccer, is a Team Physician for the American River College Football Team, and provides medical coverage for the California International Marathon. She has provided sideline event coverage for the World’s Strongest Man Competition in 2021 and 2022.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Warrick has clinical interests in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and musculoskeletal ultrasound guided injections; she teaches medical students, residents, fellow physicians, and attending physicians among several specialties at UC Davis School of Medicine how to perform musculoskeletal ultrasound evaluations. Dr. Warrick is an Assistant Clinical Professor who teaches how to perform clinical musculoskeletal examinations and enjoys mentoring medical students through clinical preceptorship.

Dr. Warrick has research interests in regenerative medicine (currently engaged in a clinical trial involving adipose derived stem cells for knee osteoarthritis), platelet rich plasma (PRP), the nutritional health of athletes (Low Energy Availability, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport, Female Athlete Triad), Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in Athletes, and Injury Prevention in Ultramarathon Runners.
