Patient Experience Week: Thank you for showing kind and inclusive care

Patient Experience Week is an annual celebration of the role of health care workers in delivering kind, compassionate patient experiences. PX Week takes place April 29 – May 3.

What is patient experience?

Patient experience is a patient's perception of their entire health care journey, from scheduling an appointment to discharge from the hospital and everything in between. Patient experience is greatly influenced by the culture of a health care system and, therefore, the employees who work within it.

UC Davis Health designs its spaces, services and processes for the comfort and ease of patients and employees. The patient experience team maps patient journeys, surveys our communities, and tracks critical experience data.

But the most important part of patient experience? That’s you, the physicians, care teams and staff members who build strong connections with patients by living our values of kindness, trust and inclusion. It’s you who put patients at the center of everything we do.

What’s in the PX Week kit?

This year, managers received a digital kit with suggested activities for team huddles and guidance on UC Davis Health’s values of kindness, trust and inclusion. Please share information in the kit with your teams:

  • A Living Our Values Guide
  • Patient Experience Week activities and games
  • Photo Op - share your team photos with us at HS-PXWeek@ucdavis.edu!
