The UC Davis Eye Center partners with both the UC Davis Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine as well as the Ocular Pathology Service at Washington University, St. Louis to provide specialized ophthalmic pathology analysis for all specimens related to the eye.
This includes:
1. Gross and microscopic imaging 2. Conventional histopathology 3. Special tissue stains and immunohistochemical markers 4. Advanced diagnostic studies 5. Consultative reviews of previously diagnosed cases By offering the most sophisticated and innovative contemporary pathology services, the region’s ophthalmologists can turn to the Eye Center for the latest diagnostic resources available in microscopic and molecular diagnostics.
Referral Procedures:
To submit surgical specimens to the UC Davis Health System Eye Center’s Ophthalmic Pathology unit: Notify your appropriate staff member that you wish to have the specimens sent to UC Davis. Complete a customized eye pathology request form. These can be delivered to your institution. Provide a copy of patient’s insurance information Instruct courier service to deliver specimen to:
