New Advanced Psychiatric Therapeutics Clinic
The UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is opening a new clinic dedicated to treating patients with treatment-resistant major depressive disorder. The Advanced Psychiatric Therapeutics Clinic will provide novel treatment modalities including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and esketamine nasal spray. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) will also be offered in the near future.

New Approach to Equity in Autism, Fragile X Research
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences professor and UC Davis MIND Institute Director, Leonard Abbeduto, Ph.D., is calling for a major shift in the way research into autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities is conducted. He co-authored a paper featured in a special issue of the American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Loss of Executive Function May Signal Onset of FXTAS
New UC Davis research published in the journal Movement Disorders shows that men with an FMR1 premutation who experienced reduced executive function were at a higher likelihood of developing fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS). The findings could help clinicians determine which premutation carriers will eventually develop FXTAS.
