Philosophy of Care

Being a doctor is truly a privilege and honor. Thank you for allowing me to take care of you. I find pain medicine and anesthesiology endlessly fascinating and hope to share this passion with the UC Davis community to provide the best care for all my patients. 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Cheng is a pain medicine physician and general anesthesiologist caring for patients both in the outpatient pain clinic as well as in the operating rooms. He has a special interest in interventional techniques for pain management including fluoroscopy-guided and ultrasound-guided injections for pain relief, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and new pain treatment technologies.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Cheng's academic interests revolve around medical education and mentorship. He activity teaches medical students, residents, and fellows and serves in in various education and administrative roles in the UC Davis School of Medicine as well as the UC Davis Pain Medicine Fellowship Program.
