Eye on DEI: What diversity, equity and inclusion means to Becky Grunewald

(SACRAMENTO)

The Office for Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (HEDI) seeks to highlight individual responses to the prompt, "what does diversity, equity and inclusion mean to you?" The responses come from staff, students and faculty on both the Davis and Sacramento campuses.

Becky Grunewald

This week's response is from Becky Grunewald, who works in Environmental Health and Safety.

“Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion means that our organization chart reflects the diversity of the community that we serve and are located within. This diversity should extend to all levels of the organization, from entry level to top leadership. True DEI requires intention, attention, and effort to accomplish and maintain.”

HEDI would like to highlight your perspective on what diversity, equity and inclusion means to you in its weekly newsletter. To be highlighted, complete this form, which asks for your name, department/unit, a photograph and a quote answering the question, "what does diversity, equity and inclusion mean to you?” (Please note that if you are including a photo, you must acknowledge your consent to use the photo with a release form. If you are selected for a highlight, you will be contacted by a member of the HEDI team.)
