Celebrating our medical laboratory professionals during Lab Week

Last week, UC Davis Health celebrated Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. The annual celebration provides a chance to say “thank you” to all the medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in health care and patient advocacy.
This year's theme was "Lab is Everything."
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Sciences has 50 faculty, 16 residents and more than 400 academic and clinical staff. Every year, the department performs millions of tests for patients. This year, the team surpassed four million tests, an all-time record.
"As our test volume continues to increase, we are very fortunate to have such an amazing team of medical laboratory professionals to be able to provide our clinicians with the information they need to care for our patients," said Sabrina Okimura, director of the department of pathology and lab medicine.
