UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento has dedicated fire marshal staff, who are a team of highly trained and experienced professionals, who ensure the safety of all patients, staff, students, and visitors. The Fire Marshal’s Office works collaboratively to balance compliance with a patient-centric focus.

The mission of the Fire Marshal is to protect life and property through the application of fire prevention engineering, education, and enforcement.  This mission is addressed through a comprehensive effort of fire safety education, fire and life safety inspections, and oversight of all maintenance performed on fire and life safety systems installed in all UC Davis Health campus facilities as well as off-site clinics and office buildings associated with the health system.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is responsible for managing compliance with the State Fire Prevention Code and other applicable fire safety laws, regulations, and standards; providing fire safety education and training; responding to fires that occur on UC Davis Health properties; performing plan reviews and construction inspections.

UC Davis Health Fire Marshals are delegated fire prevention authorities by the California State Fire Marshal as well as the California Department of Health Care Access and Information.
