Stacy Du - Alumna and Student Research Mentor

student spotlight

My name is Stacy Du and I am a junior at John C. Kimball High School. As I will be one of the first to attend college in my family, I was unsure about how to achieve my higher education goals that would lead me to a career in medicine. The HEALTH program (Spring 2021) gave me the opportunity to attain invaluable college-preparatory resources and mentorship from medical professionals, medical students, and college advisors - all which reassured me that a career in medicine is possible. Not only that, the best part of the program was that I was able to further enhance my interests in cultural diversity and disparities through creating a community health research project on "Environmental factors affecting low-income minorities".

As a HEALTH student research mentor for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 programs, I was able to come back as a volunteer and offer guidance to scholars that were creating their very own research projects. I would definitely recommend this program to students who are seeking guidance in their future educational plans and want the fun experience of a mini-medical school.

It is never too early to start planning for your future!
