The Lucy Whittier Molecular Core Facility at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine offers comprehensive services for quantitative PCR based on the TaqMan chemistry. We offer a variety of services, including an end-to-end TaqMan PCR service, including consulting for experimental design and sample collection, sample preparation (DNA/RNA extraction, quality controls, RT-step, cDNA quality control), TaqMan PCR system design and validation, housekeeping gene validation, TaqMan PCR analysis and downstream calculation for absolute or relative quantitative PCR results. TaqMan PCR is the method of choice to validate microarray hits with a highly sensitive, specific and fully quantitative method. The Lucy Whittier Molecular Core Facility maintains a close relationship with the Microarray Core Facility for the coordination of projects and encourages investigators to utilize the Microarray Core Facility at the UC Davis School of Medicine for microarray analysis.
