Philosophy of Care

As a rheumatologist, I have the privilege to work with a diverse group of patients from different age groups, race, gender, taking care of a variety of chronic inflammatory arthritis and systemic autoimmune diseases. I believe communication and trust, as well as, mutual respect are critical to the physician-patient relationship. My goal is to provide patients with data driven up-to-date information about their disease and treatment options and to be an advocate for their health and well being.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Islam is an adult rheumatologist experienced in taking care of a multitude of autoimmune and inflammatory disease including systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren's, sarcoidosis, myositis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, IgG4-RD, vasculitis.
