Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship

Our Team

Our faculty is internationally recognized for expertise in diabetes, growth, puberty, childhood obesity and health services research. The nurses, dieticians, social workers, and other medical professionals on our pediatric endocrine team form a cohesive group that enjoys working together to care for our patients and their families. Our group has a history of developing novel clinical programs to improve outcomes for children with diabetes, including a recent Innovation Award for clinical care.

    Dennis M. Styne, M.D.

    Professor

    Dr. Styne cares for all types of pediatric endocrine conditions in children and teenagers with a particular focus upon obesity, growth disorders, disorders of puberty and diabetes mellitus. Dr. Styne has written a textbook on Pediatric Endocrinology that is used by providers around the world as well as over 100 other medical publications. He is also a leader in the evaluation and treatment of childhood obesity and the complications that arise from it.

  • Stephanie Crossen, M.D., M.P.H.

    Associate Professor

    Dr. Crossen provides clinical care for infants, children, and adolescents with a wide variety of endocrine conditions. Her expertise includes disorders of the thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands; disorders of growth, puberty, and sexual development; disorders of bone health and calcium regulation; type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus; and various genetic conditions with associated endocrine issues.

  • Abigail Fruzza, M.D.

    Associate Clinical Professor

    Dr. Fruzza values medical education and public service, and strives for excellence in theses areas. Her involvement in the Pediatric Endocrinology Telemedicine clinic provides services to patients living in rural areas of Northern California as well as Oregon.

  • Nicole Glaser, M.D.

    Dean’s Endowed Professorship for Childhood Diabetes Research
    Professor

    Dr. Glaser is a Pediatric Endocrinologist who cares for children with diabetes, thyroid disorders, disorders of growth and puberty, and other hormonal disorders. She has a particular research interest in type 1 diabetes and diabetic ketoacidosis.

  • Lindsey Loomba-Albrecht, M.D.

    Program Director, Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program
    Associate Clinical Professor

    Dr. Loomba-Albrecht offers care for children with a wide range of endocrine conditions, including type 1 diabetes, thyroid disease and disorders of growth and puberty. She has a longstanding interest in genetics and human development, and has a particular interest in endocrine conditions in children with genetic conditions (including children with differences in sexual development).

  • Armaiti Mody, M.D.

    Assistant Clinical Professor

    Dr. Mody is a pediatric endocrinologist offering care for children and adolescents with various endocrine conditions including diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, pituitary and adrenal disorders, as well as disorders of puberty and growth. Her clinical interest and expertise is in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), an increasingly common endocrine condition related to hyperandrogenism, ovulatory dysfunction and often insulin resistance. Dr. Mody currently is offering care to adolescents with PCOS in her Multidisciplinary Adolescent PCOS (MAP) clinic at UC Davis. She also works alongside Pediatric Neurology in the Leukodystrophy clinic, with a clinical interest in adrenal insufficiency associated with X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD).

  • Caroline Schulmeister, M.D.

    Assistant Professor

    Dr. Schulmeister is a pediatric endocrinologist providing care to children with a wide variety of endocrine conditions, including thyroid, adrenal, puberty, and growth disorders, as well as those with diabetes. She has a special clinical interest in caring for transgender/gender-diverse youth and those with disorders of sexual differentiation.
