Hematology and Oncology Research Projects

Many members of the Division of Hematology and Oncology are actively engaged in areas of research that cover the gamut from basic/translational clinical and population research. While grants support many areas of research, cancer therapeutics is the major research program in the Division. Other active research areas include cancer health disparity, tumor markers and proteomics, protein tyrosine kinase, molecular imaging, sickle cell anemia, cancer and thrombosis, vascular biology, stem cell biology, stem cell transplant, and hemophilia. The Division has over $12 million in active extramural research funding annually. Several Hematology and Oncology faculty hold leadership roles in some of the major Research Centers in the School of Medicine.
