The 2008 UC Davis Cancer Center Breast Cancer Research Symposium speaker lineup included three survivors who shared touching stories of frustration and hope during diagnosis and treatment along with inspiration for the research community. Sharing their stories were Teri Munger, a former high-tech industry executive who now leads the nonprofit organization Peace for Families; Tammie Denyse, an ordained minister and president of Carrie's TOUCH, empowering women to make informed choices about breast cancer; and Anel Vizcarra, an advocate who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 28 years of age.
