Academic Vascular/Endovascular Surgeon

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis Health located in Sacramento, California, seeks to hire two full time Vascular/Endovascular Surgeons in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the assistant or associate professor level, in the Health Science Clinical Professor, or Clinical X series. The Division of Vascular Surgery is a comprehensive academic program including an integrated residency in vascular surgery, basic and clinical research, an active clinical service, and affiliations with the Veterans Administration hospital in Sacramento and David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California.

The selected candidates will contribute to the growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of the surgical programs at UC Davis Health. Expected responsibilities include teaching, clinical care, both inpatient and outpatient, and research relating to vascular disease. Clinical duties include resident/fellow supervision, open vascular and percutaneous endovascular work at both the UC Davis Medical Center and one or more VA/DoD facilities.  Ready access to hybrid O.R.s, Catheterization Labs, Simulation Centers, etc. will be available. The selected candidates will work collaboratively and integrate with our partners.

Basic Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must possess a Medical Degree; and be eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery. Candidates must be able to show 2 or more years of leadership and administrative experience relating to clinical and educational programs and successful research activities; based off of previous positions, duties, and leadership responsibilities. All candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.

Additional Qualifications: 
Candidates must be able to obtain a California Medical License and a California Fluoroscopy Operator’s Permit before the start date.

Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.
