Project 56: Excellence in People through Valuing Diversity: Create an environment where all people feel included, valued, celebrated, and respected.

A UC Davis School of Medicine study published in the American Journal of Medicine has found that career-flexibilty policies may be an important strategy to reduce faculty turnover and improve work-life balance.


  1. Recruit, promote and retain a diverse cadre of faculty.
  2. Recruit and retain a diverse body of residents and fellows.
  3. Recruit, train, and successfully graduate a diverse student body.
  4. Create an environment that celebrates different cultures, view, work schedules.
  5. Further involvement in high school outreach programs.
