The workshop is geared toward clinicians, residents, fellows, and healthcare staff who want to learn how to design and implement a quality improvement (QI) project or initiative. Online access to required pre-workshop readings is provided in advance.

Prior to the workshop, participants should identify a health care quality or patient safety issue that they want to improve. During the workshop, participants will actively apply the methods and tools taught, and design an actionable and feasible QI project.

Objectives:

  • List key concepts, methods, and tools in clinical quality improvement.
  • Describe how process improvement and human-centered design methods are applied in health care.
  • Describe the adverse effects of health inequities on healthcare quality in diverse populations.
  • Identify strategies to address unintended biases and health inequities through quality improvement.
  • Design a clinical quality improvement project to address a health care quality issue.

Tuition (due with registration):

  • $150 for UC Davis Health residents and fellows
  • $250 for other UC Davis employees and affiliates
  • $350 for all other participants

Cancellation and Refund Policy: A refund of tuition, less $50 administrative fee, will be allowed if requested in writing by Oct. 10, 2024. No refunds will be provided after this date.
