Philosophy of Care

My primary focus is fracture management, applying the latest evidence based techniques tailored to each individual fracture with focus on sound biomechanical principles and careful soft tissue management in order to optimize long term outcomes and patient function.

I believe in a comprehensive team approach to patient care, working closely with consulting services, physical & occupational therapy, and primary care providers to optimize the patient overall recovery and rehabilitation as well as prevention of future fractures.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Fitzpatrick's clinical interests include polytrauma patients, complex periarticular fracture of the upper and lower extremity, and long bone fractures.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Fitzpatrick’s research focuses on clinical outcomes to improve patient care particularly related to complex foot and ankle and lower extremity trauma. Dr. Fitzpatrick has a genuine interest in education, taking an active role in both resident and medical student curriculum as a member of the resident education committee and serving as an IOR in the medical school curriculum at both the pre-clinical and clinical level.
