Philosophy of Care
I consider the patient to be a crucial part of the health care team. A person's participation, opinion and choices matter in reaching their health care goals. Is is an honor to serve as a health care provider at UC Davis Medical Center.
Dr. Monis is interested in patient oriented appropriate use of blood products. She encourages patient and children education, waste reduction, use of databases/informatics and efficient process management. Dr. Monis is a transfusion physician for the Blood Bank, Apheresis and Special Coagulation service.
Dr. Monis has research interests in the improvement of blood product quality and administration. Some of her previous studies investigate hematologic pathology (including disseminated intravascular coagulopathy (DIC); microparticle formation; lupus inhibitors; hemophilia). She has also worked with new assay development and/or application (ex. for blood component quality monitoring or lupus inhibitors).
