UC Davis Medical Center has been designated as a Top 10 Hospital in America for Service Excellence by the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers (AAHCP), signifying it as one of America's most customer-friendly hospitals.
"This award is a direct reflection of the dedication, caring and hard work our employees and students display every day," said Ann Madden Rice, CEO of UC Davis Medical Center. "It also shows our commitment as an institution to provide safe, high-quality and compassionate care to our patients."
Every year, the alliance evaluates about 400 hospitals for consideration of the Hospital of Choice Award, and selects about 100 of them to receive it. The award is designed to find America's most customer-friendly hospitals, based either on an extensive application process or by a secret review of a facility's public communication and staff interaction with customers.
The alliance had selected UC Davis Medical Center as a Hospital of Choice for 2012. At its Hospital of Choice Award Banquet on June 29, the alliance announced that UC Davis Medical Center was among its Top Ten Hospitals for 2012.
The Hospital of Choice Award is designed to find America's most customer-friendly hospitals. The selections are based on a secret review of a hospital's performance in customer service, public communication and citizenship.
