Philosophy of Care

My overall philosophy of burn care is to do it right the first time. This minimizes scarring and optimizes outcomes. The best medical care is provided using a team approach, which brings together people with different skill sets with a common goal: to heal the patient.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Palmieri is a burn intensivist caring for adults and children with burn injury, major wounds, or skin disorders both acutely after injury and long term. She has a special clinical interest and expertise in inhalation injury, critical care, blood transfusion, burn disaster management, and treatment of life-threatening burn injury.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Palmieri's research focuses on uniting diverse teams of stakeholders to translate science into optimal clinical care. Her research interests include long term outcomes after burn injury, blood transfusion, wildfire burns, pharmocokinetics, artificial intelligence, and the development of innovative wound care treatments.
