Dr. Benjamin has extensive experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as geriatric and emergency room psychiatry. His orientation is towards the psychodynamic underlay of a wide range of maladies, but with no less an orientation towards proper eclecticism in consideration of therapeutics as a whole. Having a keen interest in teaching, supervising residents and medical students in clinical interviewing and psychotherapy, his aim is that of excellence in care, not just basic competency. As one of the principle faculty involved in the PGY-3 year in the outpatient clinic, and having won a number of teaching awards, his pledge is that the PGY-3 year will provide for a very robust learning experience. He also serves as an examiner with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
