The mission of the UC Davis Department of Pain Medicine is to provide the highest possible quality of patient care, to conduct research on cutting edge pain treatment modalities, and to train residents, medical students, practicing physicians, allied health personnel, and fellows.  We welcome gifts that support this mission.  We strive to make a difference in the lives of our patients every day by providing clinical care that leads them to enjoy a higher quality of life.

EDUCATION

We offer six of the most competitive training fellowships for pain medicine and is recognized as one of the most didactically rigorous and comprehensive pain medicine training programs in the US.

Our dedication to education extends beyond the pain specialist and includes training clinicians across all medicinal specialties, nursing, psychology and other allied fields.

RESEARCH

The comprehensive research program, at the UC Davis Center for Pain Medicine, includes the study of physical and psychological assessment of pain; investigation of analgesic therapies and interventions; stem cell therapy;  novel devices and the impact public policy has on pain patients.

ADVOCACY

The UC Davis Center for Pain Medicine is at the forefront of public policy and advocacy. We are engaged with state and national organizations and called upon by government agencies to ensure patient access to compassionate and effective pain care.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

UC Davis Center for Pain Medicine provides extensive community service through education and outreach. Faculty members provide education to a wide variety of clinical departments, schools and units throughout the UC Davis campus and provide consumer education for community organizations interested in all aspects of pain medicine. We also partner with community programs throughout our region including Yolo Hospice, The Effort and the Placer County Health Outreach Service providing pro bono consultation.
