As a key player in the world-renowned UC Davis Trauma Center — one of the three busiest Level 1 trauma centers in the United States — the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery covers a full spectrum of operative and nonoperative orthopaedic specialties, including:

Additional specialty interests and faculty capabilities include Ilizarov techniques; closed intramedullary surgery; reconstruction of complex fractures and problems of the acetabulum and pelvis; knee ligament reconstruction; limb preservation surgery for malignant tumors of the extremities; custom and specialized total joint replacement surgery and joint preservation; allograft surgery; specialized fixation techniques for spinal disorders in children and adults; specialized interest in pediatric disorders of the foot and hip; total joint replacement of the upper extremity; microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery.
