Covered California: How to Choose UC Davis Health

Important note as of fall 2023: Due to overwhelming demand, we currently are not accepting new adult patients for primary care. At this time, we may be accepting new pediatric patients for primary care. For more information, please call UC Davis Health’s Consumer Resource Center at 800-2-UCDAVIS (1-800-282-3284).

California residents who don’t have access to health insurance through their employer or another government program may be eligible to purchase health coverage from the state’s Covered California health benefits exchange.

Covered California is a health-insurance marketplace created through the federal Affordable Care Act. Covered California includes health plans that allow you to choose a UC Davis physician for your primary care.

In Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado counties (Covered California’s Region 3), UC Davis primary care physicians and specialty care services are available through the following individual and family health plans available for purchase through Covered California:

  • Blue Shield PPO
  • Health Net PPO
