Julie A. Freischlag

Julie A. Freischlag, M.D., is the Vice Chancellor for Human Health Sciences and Dean of the School of Medicine at UC Davis. She oversees UC Davis Health System’s academic, research and clinical programs, including the School of Medicine, the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, the 1,000-member physician practice group, and UC Davis Medical Center, a 619-bed acute-care hospital.

David A. Acosta, M.D.

David A. Acosta, M.D., Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion at UC Davis Health System, leads diversity activities across all health system operations, including the UC Davis School of Medicine, the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, UC Davis Medical Center and the physician practice group.

Lars Berglund

Lars Berglund, M.D., Ph.D., is the Senior Associate Dean for Research, overseeing all aspects of the School of Medicine research portfolio, with responsibility for strategic planning, space assignments, matching and bridging funds, and representing the school at the institutional and national level.

Edward J. Callahan

Edward J. Callahan, Ph.D., Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Personnel for the Schools of Human Health Sciences, oversees academic recruitment, appointment, onboarding, merit and promotion review, faculty development, and mentoring.

Ann Madden Rice is the Chief Executive Officer of UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. She is a nationally recognized expert in the management of health-care institutions, with experience in both academic and community medical centers.

Tim Maurice

Tim Maurice, M.B.A., is Chief Financial Officer for UC Davis Health System, responsible for overall financial operations of the health system.

Thomas S. Nesbitt, M.D., M.P.H.

Thomas S. Nesbitt, M.D., M.P.H., is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Technologies and Alliances and is responsible for advancing the UC Davis Health System’s excellence in clinical outreach and technology-enabled models of care. Nesbitt served as Interim Vice Chancellor for Human Health Sciences and Dean of the School of Medicine at UC Davis from June 2013 – February 2014.

Chong Porter

Chong Porter is Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Development and Alumni Relations, responsible for enhancing the culture of philanthropy at UC Davis Health System and expanding the base of donor support through alumni relations and community engagement.

Mark E. Servis

Mark E. Servis, M.D. is Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and leads the Office of Medical Education. He is responsible for all aspects of undergraduate medical education including medical student admissions, student support services such as advising, financial aid and student wellness, and works collaboratively with faculty on medical school curriculum.

David Wisner

David Wisner is Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Director of the Practice Management Board, responsible for designing the structure, rules, responsibilities, funding needs and physician medical practice goals for UC Davis Health System.

Heather M. Young

Heather M. Young, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., a nurse leader, educator and scientist and a nationally recognized expert in gerontological nursing and rural health care, she is Associate Vice Chancellor for Nursing and founding dean of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis.
