Quality Improvement and Patient SafetyThe Institute for Population Health Improvement, in collaboration and partnership with the non-profit Hospital Quality Institute (HQI) are working together to describe a coordinated approach to acquire, interrogate, manage, and analyze data; and to disseminate actionable intelligence to help California hospitals improve patient safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.

IPHI provides staff support and thought leadership to create actionable intelligence to the HQI in four areas of performance defined by HQI's strategic plan: maternal care, patient experience, sepsis, and surgical safety.

We are additionally beginning a collaborative effort to develop a data collection portal that will receive patient safety and quality improvement data from hospitals statewide with the endpoint of improving patient safety and quality outcomes measures for California hospitals and patients.
