Giving to UC Davis Health System

Informatics and Telehealth

Connecting patients and specialists, across town and around the world

Providing health care to rural areasUC Davis Health System is a national leader in telehealth, with highly regarded programs in telemedicine, distance education and health informatics.

Our telemedicine program offers consultation in more than 21 medical specialties, ranging from infectious disease and pediatric critical care to psychiatry and dermatology, at more than 100 clinics and hospitals in California, and serves as a model for others around the world.

Private support is paramount to UC Davis Health System’s ability to stay cutting-edge in initiatives such as:

  • A new Center for Health and Technology Building at the Sacramento campus, where the next generation of physicians, nurses and other health-care professionals will train to effectively use innovative technologies to improve patient care. A major focus of the center is expanding the use of telemedicine to help bridge the barriers of time and distance that many communities currently face in gaining access to specialized health care.
  • Top-tier informatics systems that permit our faculty and staff to deliver care, conduct research and educate in an integrated-technology environment.  The Surgery and Emergency Services Pavilion opened in fall 2010 and is one of the most technologically-advanced hospitals in the country.
