American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association Annual Meeting
The American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association is a national organization founded in 1943 and devoted to "encouraging ...the improvement of scientific clinical services to persons suffering from cleft palate and associated deformities." Today, the association has a membership of 2,600 in 40 countries, from 30 health-care disciplines, and holds an annual meeting to report and share clinical and research activities.
Members of the UC Davis Cleft and Craniofacial Team attend the meeting annually in the spring. Team members participate in seminars, study sessions, colloquia, poster sessions, videotapes, and other forums for continuing education about clefts and craniofacial anomalies, while interacting with members from similar teams around the country.
Coalition of California Cleft and Craniofacial teams

Issues include standards of care, legislation related to health-care of our patients, and the importance of team care. Our team has been involved with the coalition since its inception.
The Coalition's Web site can be found at www.cleftteam.org. There you will find information on current legislation pertaining to cleft lip and palate and craniofacial problems, California Children's' Services, as well as position papers on the standards of team care. Also included is information on working with health-care organizations, insurance companies and sample letters to insurance companies.
