  • Serve Grow Connect Graphic

    New AAFSA Graphic

    New AAFSA Graphic and Meaning

This graphic for the African American Faculty and Staff Association visually illustrates our encompassing mission to “Serve,” “Grow,” and “Connect.”

The Sankofa bird is an important symbol in African culture, representing a deep appreciation and respect for one’s history and ancestors. The Sankofa bird serves as a reminder to look both back and forward, embracing the past while looking ahead to the future. The tree and pathway symbolize the career growth and upward mobility that AAFSA provides through its programs. Additionally, the handshake symbolizes its members’ service and philanthropic endeavors, both personal and professional, towards our community.
