Professor Melnikow’s appointment became effective Jan. 1 and extends through Dec. 31, 2012, with an option for a two-year extension.

The task force is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading source of advice on clinical preventive services for primary care clinicians, health plans and other parties.
Professor Melnikow, who also is associate director of the Center for Healthcare Policy and Research, is particularly interested in women's health care, cancer prevention and cost-effectiveness.
