Special Exhibit: The Red Dress, Design Stories for Heart Health

In 2010, The UC Davis Department of Design and the UC Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program launched a collection of student-designed red dresses to raise awareness about women’s heart health across generations. This unique exhibition showcases 18 of the dresses and the designers' inspirations. Cost: Free. Location: Cruess Hall, UC Davis. Hours: noon-4 pm. Free healing arts workshop — Writing as Healing

Writing with others is inspirational, fun and healing. Come join us as we write together and share our voices. The intention of the workshop is to create a sense of freedom and excitement about writing. We are all writers. Discover and share with us your way and your voice. Participation is free. This 2-hour interactive workshop addresses strategies to quit tobacco. Basic Information about tobacco addiction, how to break the addiction cycle, medications, and self-management skills. Get your tickets now for Annual Bariatric Fashion Show

The fashion show highlights the weight-loss accomplishments of UC Davis patients and gives them the chance to show off their new physiques as they model fashions for business, leisure and formal occasions. This year’s event features three men and 10 women who lost a significant amount of weight following weight-loss procedures. Time: 7-9 p.m. Location: UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center auditorium, 2279 45th St., Sacramento. Admission to the event, which features door prizes, costs $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the education, clinical and research initiatives of the UC Davis Bariatric Surgery Program.
