Red Dress collectionNow through March 13, 2015
Special Exhibit: The Red Dress, Design Stories for Heart Health

In 2010, The UC Davis Department of Design and the UC Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program launched a collection of student-designed red dresses to raise awareness about women’s heart health across generations. This unique exhibition showcases 18 of the dresses and the designers' inspirations. Cost: Free. Location: Cruess Hall, UC Davis. Hours: noon-4 pm. Free healing arts workshop — Writing as Healing

Writing with others is inspirational, fun and healing. Come join us as we write together and share our voices. The intention of the workshop is to create a sense of freedom and excitement about writing. We are all writers. Discover and share with us your way and your voice. Participation is free. Experience in creative writing is not required. Writing sessions are facilitated by a trained workshop leader to create a safe, welcoming environment for patients, staff, caregivers and community members. Car Seat Safety

Learn the importance of car seat safety, how to select the proper seat for your child and the correct way to secure your child in a car seat. The class is free to the public. The Power of Red: Cocktails and Couture

UC Davis Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi invites you to a special event during National Heart Month to celebrate the unique collaboration of the UC Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program and the UC Davis Department of Design. The event features a fashion show of student-designed red dresses that encourage heart-health awareness among women across generations. Red attire is encouraged. The American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR course is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. Eat pancakes, help sick children

Pancake lovers can eat their fill of short-stack pancakes and make a donation to support sick and injured children at UC Davis Children's Hospital, in recognition of the International House of Pancakes' (IHOP) National Pancake Day. Where: In front of UC Davis Medical Center, near the intersection of X and 45th Streets from 6 to 10 a.m. The suggested donation for pancakes is $5. A second location has been added for the first time this year. The Ellison Building, located at 4860 Y Street, will also offer pancakes from 7 to 10 a.m. The pancake station will be located in between Parking Structure 2 and the west entrance of the Ellison Building.
